The License Management feature on the Monotype Fonts platform enables you (as an admin user) to monitor and manage font usage within your organization. However, this process of reviewing font usage and making decisions on marking fonts as production fonts could be time-consuming due to lack of context.
To streamline this process, the Creative Designer can show intent to use a sync or downloaded font as a production font.
By proactively capturing intent at the point of font selection, an admin user will gain better visibility into why fonts are appearing in the Fonts for Review section of License Management. This additional context will help you take quicker and more informed actions, improving efficiency and reducing workload.
Note: Monotype Desktop App v7.7.x also allows you to manage font licensing. This License Management Creative Workflow feature is available upon request. Contact our support team to enable it for you.
Is there a way to check the details and creative designer’s intent to use font(s) shown in Fonts for review? Where can I view the intent shared with me?
You can view the intent shared in the Source column of the Font for review page.
Click on the font style name to view the detailed information like how many times the font is synced, downloaded, used, or informed for production with comments from the user.
Click All events to view the details on other actions (like syncs and downloads) performed on the selected font style.
You can also view the confirmed requested fonts in the Source column of Confirmed production fonts page.
How can a creative designer share the intent to font selection with me?
If you are a creative designer follow the steps below to share the intent to font selection with your admin.
At family level:
Go to Browse > Font.
Click
More options icon.
Select Request for production.
You can add more details and select specific styles.
Click on the Click here link to select the specific styles.
Select the required styles.
Click Done.
Click Request all <number of styles in that family> styles for production. A confirmation message displays.
At font style level:
Open the font style page.
Click the more options icon
.
Select Request for production.
If you want, you can add your comment in Add more details. It is optional but recommended.
Click Request <number of selected styles> style(s) for production. A confirmation message displays.
