For illustration purposes only, suppose ImportedFontsMigration_A is the source account and ImportedFontsMigration_B is the target account.
Since multiple admins may have uploaded imported fonts to the source account, each admin must individually log in to their account to facilitate the migration. To transfer their uploaded imported fonts to the target account, each admin needs to create a font list and add their imported fonts to it.
Use the following steps to migrate the imported fonts:
Log in to Monotype Fonts source account (ImportedFontsMigration_A) from where you want to migrate the imported fonts.
Go to Manage > Imported Fonts. You will see all the imported fonts uploaded along with the details and who imported them.
Add all the fonts uploaded by you to a font list, to be able to download font files for them. You can select them from the checkboxes and click Add to.
Note: Email our solutions team at [email protected] to get a detailed report of imported fonts uploaded and who uploaded them in CSV or xlsx format.
Add to my library dialog displays to help you select the font list to which you want to add the imported fonts selected above.
Select an existing list that you have created for this task or create a new one by clicking Create new.
Select the list and click Done. The imported fonts will be added to the font list and success message will appear on the imported fonts page.
Click View from the green confirmation message displayed in the lower left corner of the screen or go to My Library and select the font list to verify that all the required imported fonts are added to that font list.
Note: For the added fonts to be available for download, you (as the admin/uploader) should have access to these imported fonts. Otherwise, you will see a lock icon corresponding to the non-accessible fonts.
To give access, admin should go to the imported fonts page, select the fonts, and click Share access.
The Who has access modal displays. You can use it to share imported fonts access with the required users or entire company based on your requirement and font licensing terms and conditions mentioned in the EULA.
Give access to yourself/importer or entire company and click Update. The lock icon will disappear from the imported font list and the option to download the fonts displays.
Note: If you don't see the download option, then it means that your account doesn’t have the download access. Contact your account manager to provide you the access.
Click on the Sync & download options menu corresponding to the font list. You will get the option to download all imported fonts files at once.
Click Download all font files. Font files for all the imported fonts added to the font list get downloaded in a zipped folder and are ready for upload to the target account.
To upload imported fonts into the target account, you (as an admin of target account) should log in (in required division if the account has divisions) to the target account (ImportedFontsMigration_B).
Go to Manage > Imported Fonts and click Import fonts.
Font Importer window displays.
Drag and drop the font files or click to select and import.
Click in between the highlighted box and select the downloaded imported font files.
Ensure that you extract the zip file. You can select or drag and drop here the entire extracted folder too.
The fonts will start uploading and you will get the success message once the upload is complete. The uploaded fonts will also be listed under the imported fonts section of your target account.
Note:
The limit for adding fonts to a font list is 3500. If you add more than 3500 fonts, the fonts will not be added, and the list will stop behaving as expected. If your list exceeds 3500 fonts, create a new list and add remaining fonts to the new list.
This process only transfers the imported fonts from source account to target account. It doesn’t move licensing details and attached documents. You need to manually add these details to the target account.
